AH124 ST
The AH124ST is the stereo version of the AH124, developed for mastering, mix bus, and stereo applications that demand precision and consistency. It maintains the sonic character of the original model and adds features geared towards professional use.
The circuit features a high-pass filter in the sidechain (150 Hz / 300 Hz) and six recovery options, including faster adjustments for more transparent compression.
The Input and Output controls use 24-position rotary switches, ensuring precise stereo matching and easy recall. The AH124ST employs Hi-Fi tubes and matched components.
In addition to all the functions of the AH124, the ST version also features:
- High Pass filter in the sidechain with frequency selector, allowing the compressor to act on frequencies above 150 Hz or 300 Hz.
- 6 timing options; faster Recovery, designed for more transparent use in the mastering or mix bus stage.
- Input and Output control with a 24-position rotary switch, for a perfect stereo image and easy recall.
- Hi-Fi audio tubes and matched components, to ensure both channels are identical.
- Individual bypass on each channel, as the AH124ST was also designed to be used as 2 completely individual channels for different sound sources.
- Boost switch that applies 15dB to the compressor input, also allowing for a more aggressive, saturated, and colorful sound.

TOGGLE CONTROLS
The AH124ST uses all controls as rotary switches, eliminating the imprecision of potentiometers and ensuring total repeatability. The Input and Output controls employ four 24-position switches, ensuring precise stereo matching.
This type of implementation is rare and typically found only in mastering-grade compressors, reflecting the AH124ST's focus on precision, consistency, and reliable recall.
TRANSFORMERS
The AH124 ST features an oversized input transformer, housed in a dedicated Mu-Metal shielded enclosure, designed to minimize electromagnetic interference and radio frequency noise. This solution ensures operational silence and preserves the compressor's sonic character.
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
The entire mechanical assembly is developed by Analog Heroes. The robust chassis was designed to safely house the tube circuit and transformers, ensuring durability, thermal stability, and reliability for continuous studio use.
MANUAL ASSEMBLY
Each AH124 is hand-assembled in our lab, following a meticulous process of assembly, testing, and calibration. The units are produced in small batches, ensuring rigorous quality control and consistent performance, respecting the philosophy of classic variable-mu compressors.
